stumbleupon. a phenomenon that has been sweeping Auburn's campus and I'm betting universities everywhere.
we, as college students, love procrastination. any reason to put off homework, studying, cleaning or laundry, we jump on it.
currently, i'm in rbd convincing my self that i have time to blog and stumble around the internet because my study partner has yet to arrive; cuz, studying by myself...never!
and with our love for procrastination, the internet has become our favorite resource. with stalking around facebook, reading tfln or constantly refreshing our mailbox (you never know who can email you and need a response in five seconds...), it's virtually impossible to get any work done without a strong will.
many times i've had to leave my laptop in the dorm or unchecked my internet connection just to accomplish anything.
and now..with stumbleupon, we can just say i'm addicted.
stumbleupon is (according to wikipedia) "an Internet community that allows its users to discover and rate Web pages, photos, and videos." but my terms, its a plug-in for my browser that lets me click on button and takes me on a journey to the internet's random-est websites, pictures and videos.
my friend, julia, introduced me to it one night at the lib as i was leaving at 10pm. i proceeded to sit down and "stumble" for about 2 and a half hours. [thanks julia :/ ]
it's now my habit to sit have a tab open exclusively for stumbleupon, not matter what i'm doing. it will just be open and periodically i will click the 'magic' stumble button and get a random picture and list of facts. (i'm weird because i save the pictures i like to my computer and use them as backgrounds (645 pictures to be exact), i have a that supercute puppy now. i actually just stumbleupon this video that i really enjoyed.
challenge: bet you can't stumble just once
