dead day.
it's supposed to be the day after the last day of classes so that we, the students of auburn university, have time to prepare ourselves for finals. however, since it's start, may people have strayed from it's original use.
"yay, dead day is tomorrow, so i'm going to get wasted tonight since i have all day tomorrow to study."
really? that's funny because i can guarantee that getting hammered tonight is in no way gonna make you wanna do work tomorrow. i can promise, when you wake up at 12pm with a splitting headache you're not going to want to go to rbd and study. you're just going to rollover and go back to sleep, wake up at about 6pm freak out because you have two finals the next day. then your going to head to the draughon and pull an all-nighter.
and really had you used dead day correctly...you would have studied all day and gone to sleep at a decent time and thus been well rested for your finals the next day. instead of following up "dead day" with a walk of the dead to your final.
i'm not saying that i'm using my dead day correctly. yes i was at the library lastnight till about 11:30pm then i came home and watched half a movie with the rooms (aka roommate). i didn't wake up till 11:00 this morning and now i just started a blog. a really studious dead day...not. and i'm not planning to start studying till at least 5:30pm, because i have a retreat from 1-5.
and i already have a break planned for 11:30pm because muuu DUH the rbd rave is then?! and who wants to miss that? not me.
so dead day. auburn, we need to get ourselves back on track and start using it to actually study. because guess what, next semester...we don't have one :( sad day, right?
thanks auburn for taking our dead day from us. and trying to make it up my giving us two spring 2011, yah its cool, but we're just going to be more unproductive now that we have a large break.
